Officials at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources recently received an anonymous tip that a band of teen boys age 16-19 had been illegally and inhumanely killing wildlife for “fun” and were about to engage in another murderous spree. The alleged accounts of violence have been taking place for the last several years. One description of the way the teens dispatched the animals was to club raccoons to death and intentionally run down deer with their vehicles. The teens kept tally of their grizzly death count in efforts to best one another competitive fashion. Charges are still pending.
This is another example of “someone” always knows something. The fact that the resources were available for a tipster to come forward anonymously probably prevented further acts of cruelty. Wisconsin’s DNR issued a reminder that anonymous tips pertaining to this or other illegal or immoral acts can be submitted by anyone with information regarding DNR violations including suspected thrill kill instances by calling (800)-TIP-WDNR or text tips to 847411(tip411).
